Festive Drinks Perfect for The 4th of July

4th of July weekend is here, bringing celebrations, fireworks, food and drinks. Here are some of our favorite red, white and blue beverages to help get the party started!

Red White and Blue Sangria

If you’re looking for a unique treat for a group gathering, this is the perfect choice!

Ingredients

1 ½ C Sliced strawberries

1 C Blueberries

1 C Sliced apples or pears

2 Bottles of White wine (Sparkling works too!)

1 C Peach or Orange liqueur 

1 C Berry flavored vodka 

Instructions

1. Slice the apples/pears thinly and feel free to cut-out with a star-shaped cookie cutter. 
2. Place the blueberries, sliced strawberries and apples in a pitcher with the wine and liquor.
3. Stir and refrigerate for at least an hour; overnight is fine.
4. Pour over ice and enjoy!

Firecracker Shots

These fun, fruity shots will leave everyone wanting another!

Ingredients

1/3 oz. Lemon-lime soda

1/3 oz. Lemon vodka 

2/3 oz. Blue Curacao

2/3 oz. Grenadine

Instructions

1. Mix the soda and Vodka together and chill for 30 minutes.
2. Pour mixture into a 2 oz. shot glass.
3. Slowly pour the Blue Curacao over the top of a spoon, allowing it to drizzle down the sides and onto the vodka.
4. Carefully pour the Grenadine over the spoon in the same way.

Red White and Blue Cocktail

This festive cocktail is a refreshing, sweet treat for a hot day!

Ingredients

1 oz Grenadine

3 oz Lemonade

1 oz Vodka

1 oz Blue Curacao

Ice Cubes

Instructions

1. Pour grenadine into an empty glass, then fill with ice cubes.
2. In a shaker, mix 3 oz lemonade with 1 oz vodka.
3. Shake then gently pour the mixture into the glass over the back of a spoon.
4. Add 1 oz blue curacao to the glass and serve.

Independence Day Jello Shots

No party is complete without Jello shots!

Ingredients

2 C Vodka 

2 envelopes of Unflavored gelatin

4 C Boiling water 

3 oz Blue JELL-O gelatin (Berry Blue flavor)

3 oz Strawberry or Cherry JELL-O gelatin

14 oz Sweetened condensed milk

Instructions

Blue Layer:

1. Pour all the Blue JELL-O gelatin into a bowl. 
2. Add 1 cup of boiling water.
3. Dissolve the gelatin. 
4. Add 1 cup of vodka.
5. Stir and cool for 5 minutes.
6. Pour the solution into ⅓ of the shot glasses.
7. Chill for an hour or until the layer sets.

White Layer:

1. Pour all unflavored gelatin into a mixing bowl. 
2. Add 2 cups of boiling water. 
3. Stir and dissolve the gelatin.
4. Add the sweetened condensed milk. 
5. Stir and cool for 5 minutes.
6. Pour above the blue layer.
7. Chill for an hour or until the layer sets.

 

Red Layer:

1. Pour strawberry/cherry gelatin into a mixing bowl.
2. Add a cup of boiling water.
3. Stir and dissolve the gelatin.
4. Add 1 cup of vodka.
5. Stir and cool for 5 minutes.
6. Pour above the white layer.
7. Chill for an hour, then serve.
